Yeah, I'm on Facebook now.

Also, I'm tired of blogging.

I almost never update this anymore...

...Because I have nothing of any real relevance to say. So nyeh.

Also: Getting Resident Evil 5 on Friday. That is all.

Man, with as much as my school seems to be advocating "blogging", I really should post more on here.

So, gaming crap first. I bought Star Wars: The Force Unleashed on it's release date and I beat it about a week later. Didn't take too long. The game was really overhyped, though. I will definitely say that the commercials and earlier trailers for it definitely make the game look extremely better than it actually is, after all, a lot of the gameplay portions featured in the commercials is stuff that almost quickly becomes second nature to you while playing the game. If you want a general idea of how easy some of that stuff actually is, think Resident Evil 4 or God of War's action sequences, where you have to press a certain button at (almost) exactly the right time. The animations for such sequences are cool when you first see them, but they get a little bit old really fast. The gameplay is still fun, though, if you like mixing up your small, but cool Force-related arsenal. Nothing beats tossing about some poor idiot with your telekinesis-like Force Grip power. Force Blast (think powerful Force Push) is just there to open doors most of the time. Force Lightning mostly just serves to weaken and stun stronger enemies to give you a chance at gaining the upper hand. Saber Throw/Impale is one of my more favorite Force abilities, when coupled with Grip, and Force Repulse just releases a blast of Force energy in all directions, but has a short range. It kind of reminds me of Shadow's Chaos Blast from the game Shadow the Hedgehog. Anyway, TFU also has a lot of content to keep you playing, such as unlockable costumes (my personal favorites being the Sith Robes and Sith Stalker Armor), Lightsaber crystals (Black Lightsaber is instant l33t), and... Concept art. If that's really your thing, of course. And if you care about the music in your games, and you are a major Star Wars nut, then you'll definitely love TFU's soundtrack. It has a few new pieces such as the main theme "The Force Unleashed" (seeing a pattern here, yet?), and it also adds a bunch of classic songs from the movies into the mix, a few of which I'm sure fans (like me) will recognize right away. The story for the game is rather weak, though, as in that there's just not enough depth, and there's a few plotholes that don't seem to exactly add up with the movies' storyline, but whatever. If George Lucas says it's canon, then it's canon. But anyway, The Force Unleashed is definitely worth taking a look at, especially if you're a Star Wars fan in general. It's no Knights of the Old Republic though.

I should be buying Fable II when it releases. I have the funds for it. I only have one problem though... As I recently found out, Fallout 3 releases the very next Tuesday that Fable II comes out.  Noted, I've never taken much interest in the Fallout series, but after seeing a gameplay demonstration of it, I think it's definitely worth buying. It's like a post-apocalyptic Oblivion with loads of cool guns and gadgets. Sounds pretty much exactly what I wanted to see in a video game, or it was one of my ideas of a dream video game at one time. Besides, it has a frigging Nuke Slingshot. Who DOESN'T want a Nuke Slingshot? And even besides that, I've heard that a part of the Fallout charm is it's slightly dark and twisted sense of humor mixed in with some seriousness. Let's see here... Oblivion-like? Check. Post-apocalypse? Check. Sweet guns and Nuke slingshot? Check. Twisted sense of humor? BIG CHECK. Seriousness? Check. Pretty much sounds perfect to me. So, I have to make another $60+ really soon. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Anyway, onto real life crap. I seem to be doing excellent in school this year. I'm quite shocked to hear about my excellence from my teachers if for the mere fact that I don't even feel like I'm putting up an effort. Honestly, I really don't care anymore, and I'm just trying to make it through this year. That type of attitude seems to incorporate that I would be making Cs and a few Fs on crap, right? It's entirely the opposite for me. I'm making almost nothing short of As and Bs on everything this year. Who would've thought that apathy towards school is actually making me better IN school? It's crazy.

...Meh, whatever.

EDIT: I need to quit making these entries when I'm dead tired. I read through a little bit of it to review my entry and I noticed how frigging redundant I am when I type some of this crap.

I apologize in advance for the lack of content on here. I've been busy these last few weeks...

So, I recently turned 17 on the 22nd. Happy happy joy joy. I also started back at school on the 20th. 'Tis my Junior year in High School. It hasn't been all that bad so far... The homework load's definitely increased, but not so much that it's unbearable. I've been doing pretty well at it so far.

...I'm quite shocked that I'm starting off my Algebra 2 class a whole lot better than I'm starting off my English class this year. Usually, math classes are my worst subjects and English is my best. Funny how things work out.

Honestly though, I don't really care for my Junior year. I'm tired of High School altogether and I can't really wait to start college. But anyway...

I'm still not completely used to being 17 yet. Honestly, I'm still trying to get it in my head that I'm allowed to do a lot more stuff now. I stopped myself the other day while I was browsing for an M-rated game and said (mentally, of course) "Wait... The cashier probably will give me hell if I try to buy this since people under 17 can't usually buy M rated- Wait. I am 17". Same thing when I was reading yet another news article regarding "video games making kids violent". At first, I was sympathizing, then I thought "Wait. Why do I care? I can actually buy M-rated games now". This all sounds really silly, I know. But I figured it was worth mentioning.

Anyway, I've got quite a load of video games since my birthday. I got SoulCalibur IV, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Devil May Cry 4 on my birthday, and I went out and bought Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, God of War II, and Dead or Alive 4 afterwards. I was playing SoulCalibur IV like crazy for weeks. I've made at least seven different custom characters, unlocked every character, played through every character's story, et cetera, et cetera... The online play was really fun too. I was surprised by how good I was with Siegfried. Honestly, I thought I would suck if I played online with him, but it turns out he's one of my best characters to play as. Ironically enough, I suck with Nightmare, though.

I haven't played too much of Grand Theft Auto IV mainly because one of my friends was hogging it the whole time he was over at my house when I first got it. I didn't play it too much afterwards. I really ought to just sit down with the game soon.

In the extremely short time I've had DMC1, 2 and God of War II, I've beaten all three of them. God of War II was cool and all, but it wasn't anything too drastically groundbreaking. I felt that a lot of it was pretty typical for a God of War title. Not that it wasn't cool or anything, it just didn't really wow me as much as I thought it would. As for DMC1, I didn't really like it all that much. It took me a while to actually get comfortable with the control scheme (and a few failed attempts at beating Phantom). My other gripe with it was that Dante was... Really un-Dante like in 1. I know, that's an odd thing to say about the main character from the very first game in the series, but this is coming from someone who didn't really start playing the Devil May Cry series until DMC3. I mean, I've played a very small bit of 1 and 2 when I was younger, but I hardly remembered anything from them. As for DMC2, I liked it a whole lot better than 1, honestly. The controls were, more or less, mapped back to the way I was familiar with (aside from making a separate button for dodging), and I actually kind of liked quiet, badass Dante. True, he doesn't have that snappy charm like he usually does in the other titles, but I liked the more mature Dante a bit better. Still... Wisecracking Dante is just as cool too. A few of my gripes with DMC2, however, was that the story seemed to jump around too much. I had a general idea of what was going on, but nothing completely solid and concrete. The enemy designs were also extremely weak. It seemed more like something I'd see in Castlevania, not in Devil May Cry. It was also extremely easy on the Normal difficulty. Those are a few of the only real problems I noticed about the game.

For well about the last day or so, I was playing Dead or Alive 4. I've unlocked almost all the characters and completed every character's story before I lost interest in the game. It frustrated me quite a bit. That's all I will say about the game.

Anyway, I've been playing Devil May Cry 4 all day. I finally beat the game on Son of Sparda a few hours ago. Honestly, I think this was the easiest time I've ever had fighting the Savior and Sanctus final boss fights. The Savior never really gave me any real problems, other than a few cheap hits or two which cost me one gold orb, and I managed to get Sanctus down to one bar of health before I had to use a gold orb for his fight. Afterwards, the rest of the fight was pure ownage, since Nero was back to full health/Devil Trigger. I'll probably either start Dante Must Die or Heaven Or Hell mode tomorrow, if I don't actually get around to playing GTA4. I really need to work on getting the red orbs to buy the last Purple Orb I need for Nero/Dante. I also only have two more abilities to buy for Nero. As for Dante, I still need to fully level up two or so styles and buy one more ability for him before I have them all. And Lord knows they're going to be expensive as all get out by the time I work my way up to them.

Anyway, regarding my reading material, I've already finished the second Diablo book and I'm reading through the third one now. I should be done with it within the month if I read it constantly, which I haven't been doing.  Afterwards, I'm contemplating what book I want to read next. I kind of want to go out and buy Halo: Contact Harvest, but I've also taken an interest in the Devil May Cry novel. I suppose I'll buy either one that's available, if not both.

Oh yeah. I also forgot to mention the other thing I got for my birthday: The box set for the first nine episodes of Code Geass. It came with the first two DVDs of the anime, a soundtrack, an audio drama CD, and a couple of artbooks. Pretty neat. Needless to say, I'm obsessed with the Code Geass anime right now. So much so that I think I'll start watching the subbed on YouTube. From what I gathered, I'm missing out on a lot at the moment.

Anyway, I'm done for right now.

Let's fix my little posting drought, shall we?

Reading news first. I've finished Star Wars Republic Commando: True Colors recently. Another excellent Republic Commando novel in the series. I can't wait for Order 66, the next book that will be released soon. Speaking of the works of author Karen Traviss, I was immensely pleased (and excited) to hear that she will be writing the Gears of War novels that will come out sometime this fall, if I remember correctly. I mean, after all, seeing her work with the Republic Commando novels, I have no doubt that the Gears of War novels will turn out to be just as good, if not better.

Anyway, I've started reading Diablo: The Black Road as soon as I was finished with RC: True Colors. I will admit, it has an interesting story, but I personally think that Mel Odom (the book's author) slightly drags out what seems to be the opening portion of the book's story. After all, I'm on Chapter 7 of a 26-chapter book, and it still isn't done with the seemingly opening portion of the story. Usually, openings don't last more than two or three chapters from what I've seen/read. Maybe my opinion's flawed though, or maybe I've been lied to about the book's story. I don't know. It's still a good story so far, though.

Music news. A first on my weblog, if I recall correctly, since I don't ever remember talking about my musical tastes on here, other than what I'm listening to at the time of my posts and information on my favorite music/bands in my profile. That's beside my point, though. Anyway, thanks to my best friend's playlist on Playlist.com, I'm starting to like the Melodic Death Metal/Viking Metal (according to Wikipedia) band Amon Amarth. I'd even go so far as to say they're quickly becoming one of my favorite bands. Not only are they "heavy" to a degree that I enjoy, but they include a large majority of Norse mythology in their music. And I'm a sucker for Norse mythology. Greek mythology, too, but that's a different story entirely. If you're into Metal, then I'd highly suggest giving a listen to some of Amon Amarth's music. I believe you'd love it as much as I do. Or I hope so, at least.

GAMING NEWS, YAY. So, I was over at my aforementioned friend's house a few days ago, and I played, and beat, God of War: Chains of Olympus on his PSP. You know, at first, I had little to no love for the PSP, due to issues I've heard of, such as the extreme fragility of the handheld portable console and the ridiculous effort needed to keep the system working in an acceptable condition, among other things which I cannot recall right this instant. Now, however, I assume either I've been proven wrong (IMPOSSIBLE. Nah, not really. But could you imagine if I was like that? :P) or Sony fixed some issues. Regardless... I WANT A PSP NOW. If I pick one up, I'm definitely getting God of War: Chains of Olympus for it. I'm considering Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Wild Arms XF, and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops as other games to get for it as well. If anyone who reads this post knows how these games are, please, leave me a comment on this post or in my Cbox regarding the quality of them. I really would like to know if they would be worth buying or not and I would greatly appreciate the advice.

I believe I've used a lot of "big words" in this post, haven't I? Either I've gotten intelligent overnight or all of this is some sort of freakish, random accident. Either way, SOMETHING IS CLEARLY AMISS HERE. (Caps lock, much? lulz)

Eh, I'm done for now I suppose. Let the post drought commence again.
